門式起重機是橋式起重機的一種變形，主要用于室外的貨場、料場貨、散貨的裝卸作業(yè)。它的金屬結(jié)構(gòu)像門形框架，承載主梁下安裝兩條支腳，可以直接在地面的軌道上行走，主梁兩端可以具有外伸懸臂梁。門式起重機具有場地利用率高、作業(yè)范圍大、適應面廣、通用性強等特點。
雙主梁門式起重機承載能力強，跨度大、整體穩(wěn)定性好，品種多，根據(jù)主梁結(jié)構(gòu)不同，又可分為箱形梁和桁架兩種形式。目前一般多采用箱形結(jié)構(gòu)。
Gantry crane is a variation of bridge crane. It is well suited for the use in storage yard or workshop that does not provide corbels for support. With a maximum load handling capacity of 200t, the crane is commonly found at port, storage yard, and outdoor freight yard, where it is used to load or unload bulk goods.
